Urban and Rural Cadastral
Cadastral data defines the location of survey plans registered with Alberta Land Titles. This mapping portrays block lines, lot lines, lot numbers, road limits, right of way limits, metes and bounds, plan numbers, dimensions and other information found on plans of survey, and is updated by AltaLIS on an ongoing basis. Approximately 7,500 new plans of survey are integrated each year.
Rural Cadastral data is sold by the township. Provincial coverage consists of 6550 rural townships, and 69 Urban Cadastral cities and towns which are maintained at a higher accuracy. AltaLIS does not manage cadastral for the Cities of Calgary and Edmonton, or any Federal Lands: National Parks, First Nations, & Metis Settlements.
Rural Cadastral is $100.00 per township. Volume discounts are available on one time purchases and updates are available as a subscription option for a fraction of the price ($18 per year). There is a bundled 50% discount off the second product when cadastral and title mapping is purchased at the same time.
Urban municipalities are available as complete files or the Order Desk will work with you to ‘cut out’ individual areas or map sheets. Urban map sheets (based on Cadastral Grid) cover 600 X 800 metres, and are $10 each.
Processing fee and GST apply.

Each rural township features plans of survey registered at Alberta Land Titles at an accuracy of +/- 3 metres, Alberta Township System line work (road allowances and quarter sections) which is built from ATS survey coordinates, and primary hydrographic features that have been digitized from the 1:20 000 topographic base.
Urban files are accurate to +/- 15 centimeters, and a municipal grid organizes each file into several 800m x 600m map sheets within their municipal boundary.
Rural Cadastral is available in UTM (reference meridians of 111 degrees (Zone 12) and 117 degrees (Zone 11)), and 10TM projections (reference meridian of 115 degrees)
Urban Cadastral is available in 3TM (reference meridians of 111, 114, 117 and 120 degrees) and 10TM projections (reference meridian of 115 degrees)
Cadastral is only available in CAD formats: MicroStation Design File (DGN) and AutoCad (DWG, DXF). NAD83 is the datum for all cadastral mapping.
